For Investors

Environmental credit markets are being built now. Verdaq is building the infrastructure beneath them.

This page is the public summary. The full deck, financials and cap table are available on request under NDA.

01 · The thesis

Every regulated market that has scaled has eventually needed three things: a reference dataset, a standardised procurement workflow, and a compliance layer.

Environmental credit markets — Biodiversity Net Gain, nutrient neutrality, water, and the carbon adjacencies — are moving through the same maturity curve financial markets did decades ago. Today it looks like emails, spreadsheets and habitat-bank phone calls. It won't stay that way.

Verdaq is building the layer beneath the market: verified supply data, structured procurement, and defensible planning-grade evidence. One credit type, one geography, one workflow at a time.

02 · The market
Mandated demand
10% BNG
Mandatory on all major English planning applications since 12 Feb 2024 under the Environment Act 2021.
Scope
England
Verdaq is focused exclusively on the England statutory market — BNG, nutrient neutrality and water credits under the Environment Act 2021 and associated regulations.
Structural gap
No infra
No reference pricing, no controlled provider register, no standardised RFP. The gap is procurement-shaped, not product-shaped.
Verdaq does not publish speculative market-size numbers on the public site. Sourced market sizing is available in the investor deck under NDA.
03 · Product surface

Three layers, one platform.

Verdaq's product surface deliberately mirrors the shape of every scaled market-infrastructure business: a data subscription, a transaction workflow, and a compliance artefact. Each has independent willingness to pay; each reinforces the others.

Data
Verdaq Intelligence
Provider register, price index, supply map, procurement benchmarks — sold as a subscription to consultants, developers, insurers and investors.
Exchange
Marketplace + Assurance
Structured search, standardised RFP and managed Procurement Assurance — a paid product for buyers, free listing for providers.
Compliance
Procurement Report
Planning-ready evidence pack — the artefact Local Planning Authorities, auditors and boards accept as proof the search was defensible.
04 · Defensibility

What compounds.

  • Data flywheel
Every procurement completed through Verdaq feeds the price index, benchmark set and supply map — an asset no direct-to-provider workflow can replicate.
  • Compliance artefact
The Procurement Assurance report is the moat. LPAs, insurers and auditors adopt formats; format adoption is switching-cost.
  • Two-sided verification
Provider verification is expensive to earn and expensive to replicate. Verdaq owns the register.
  • Anti-disintermediation UX
Public listings are anonymised. First contact routes through Verdaq. Contractual no-circumvent applies to introduced parties.
